Follow me on my journey to London as I study abroad this fall. In "A Long December" Counting Crows describes "the feeling that it's all a lot of oysters, but no pearls." I've had enough oysters and it's now my goal to get more pearls.

[Day 49] Family

Today mom, Aunt Carol and Aunt Helen came to visit me in London! I'm in their hotel right now skyping with Caitlin. They got here around 11, but I was in class. At 9:30 I had to go to my Representing London class and for this class we had to do a walking tour of London. We picked a route that started at Cannon St. It was a group of four, two Americans and two British kids. We walked from Cannon St to Monument station, where we saw the hugeee monument by Sir Christopher Wren that was dedicated to the Great Fire of London in 1666. After that we walked to the Old George Inn and then to Borough Market. Borough Market was really neat, it was somewhat similar to the markets in Camden except it was all food. I got a huge chocolate chip cookie. They had one section dedicated to seafood and there were these really gruesome displays of octopus and fish and stuff. A lot of the roads that we walked on were brick roads. Anyway, we walked over London Bridge after that  and toward Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. We walked across the Millennium Bridge and then I went back to campus.

I cleaned my room and organized some stuff, then I went to meet Erin at Victoria Station to give her stuff that she left in my room. Then I went to meet my mom and aunts at their hotel in Oxford Circus. They're seriously staying two blocks away from Primark, it's pretty sweet. We relaxed for a bit and then walked along Oxford St. We went in the big Selfridges department store and looked at the food and Christmas dispalys, then to Primark. They were really excited about Primark of course. Oxford St looked so pretty because all the Christmas lights were on and there were presents and umbrellas lit up in the street. We ate dinner at the Spaghetti Warehouse and now we're back at the hotel :) It's nice to have them here, I think they like it.

Back to last week, Friday morning after our flat party Erin and I woke up and went to Greenwich for the day. It was the perfect place for us to go because of course we love taking pictures and having our picture taken. We took over 500 pictures that day. We shopped at the Greenwich Market, Erin got her nose pierced, walked around and went to the Royal Observatory. It was really beautiful because all the leaves have started to change colors finally. Oh and the market was great because everyone was dressed up in Halloween costumes. Here are a few pictures (most of me) from the day:

The leaves were sooo pretty

playing in the leaves :)

When we got back, we both took a nap and ate dinner. After that we got ready and went to dinner for my birthdayyyyyyyy! Laura, Talhah, Hannah, Sammie, Vijay, Erin, Kate, Kirit, and Erin came and I got the best presents and cards ever. It was so sweet I wasn't expecting it. I got chocolate, wine, a card and roses from Flat 4. I wasn't expected it at all, it was awesome. When we got back we got dressed up and went to the Medics Halloween party in Whitechapel. It was a lot of fun. Kate, Erin and I dressed up as nerds and the played such great music.
More pictures tomorrowww
